Agreement

By using Opticosts you agree to these draft terms. The service is provided “as is” during beta. We may update features and these terms; material changes will be communicated in-product before they take effect.

The service

Opticosts offers tools to track expenses, estimate CO₂, compare with peer cohorts, receive recommendations, and discover partners. Insights are informational — not financial, tax, or investment advice. CO₂ factors are EEIO-style estimates and may change.

Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service, scrape data, or violate these terms.

Premium & payments

Paid plans are billed via Stripe. Cancellations and refunds follow Stripe Customer Portal flows and will be detailed in the final terms.

Business listings

Organizations warrant they have rights to content they submit. Paid Partner placements are labeled as such. We may reject or remove listings that mislead users.

Acceptable use of the API

API keys are confidential. Rate limits apply. Analyze endpoints are stateless and must not be used to re-identify individuals or rebuild peer cohorts contrary to privacy rules.

Liability (draft)

To the fullest extent permitted by Dutch and EU law, Opticosts is not liable for decisions made based on estimates or peer comparisons. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected. Full liability caps TBD with counsel.

Governing law

These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of the Netherlands, subject to mandatory consumer protections. Dispute forum TBD.
